We got married on the 22nd April 2014 at Millbrook Estate in Devon. They specialise in small weddings, and it is the most beautiful place in the world! http://www.
We were both a 22-24, and still are now!
We knew we wanted something that would go well together, two completely different dresses may have looked odd! We also wanted to work to a strict budget and have something that would be suitable for photographs in the woods! After hours of looking at dresses that could be sent from China, which we worried about with import taxes and any fitting issues, we finally found two dresses for £99 each at Honey Pie Boutique who specialise in vintage styles and will make a dress to your measurements up to any size. The dresses are so comfortable and really customisable with extra options/fabrics/colours so any bride could make them work! We also loved that they were made in the UK and we could support a small business. We then made our own petticoats to go underneath.
Our day was magical, and super relaxed because it was just us! We spent the day slowly getting ready with our daughter. Our photographer arrived at 2pm to take a few first shots and then we headed from our holiday cottage (part of the venue) down to where we were getting married. With just two of the estates staff and our daughter to witness, we said our vows. Two months after the big day we had a big reception party home is Sheffield with all of our friends and family!

Where did you meet your Bride/Groom?
We've know each other since we were about 14, and lost touch for a few years. We got talking again through Facebook about 8 years ago and then 7 years ago we went on our first date! The rest as they say is history,

Doing/making bits yourself and going for budget items really help, and make everything feel more personal. Don't give into the pressures of the big wedding fantasy if it's not for you, and remember why you are going through this stress - love!
