The Curve Fashion Festival 2016
Tuesday, September 13, 2016
On Friday I travelled to Liverpool to attend the Second Curve Fashion Festival. Last year it was in Manchester but relocated to Liverpool for the larger venue Liverpool Exhibition Centre on the water. There was a lot going on in Liverpool this weekend which meant hotels were full and prices were hiked up.
I met Debz of Wannabeprincess Blog at the train station and got a taxi to out hotel 10 mins out of the city in West Derby. We got settled and changed then went for food at the pub across the road with two of Debz friends.
We woke up early and had breakfast at he Beefeater joined to the hotel the glammed up for the 10am opening of The Curve Fashion Fest (TCFF)
We arrived at the venue a little after 10am and it was in full swing. The first person we spotted was Tess Holliday rocking a great stripe crop top and skirt by Ashley Nell Tipton.
I had not seen Tess since last years TCFF so was really happy she was able to come and bring her Hubby Nick Holliday and their 3 month old adorable son Bowie ❤️
I love events like this as it means all the Plus Size bloggers make the effort to get together and have a body positive experience like no other. We managed to gather up most for these photos but there are people missing sadly.
The day consists of catwalk shows by Plus Size Brands at the event. Interview like the one above and Brands talking about their new Collections.
There are loads of stalls from leading Plus Size Brands and new or smaller Brands where you can shop and try things on or just view whats new. Many had photo booths where you could get your selfie fix with friends.
I fell in love with Topsy Curvy and their selection of Halloween inspired wears. They do up to a size 32 and most items are sized large and have stretch so will fit everyone of any shape and size. The website is not fully stocked at the moment but will be soon and I will let you know when as I will be buying a few things!
Newish Brand Want That Trend have collaborated with reality tv personality Holly Hagan and will be bringing out a range available up to size 32 which will be online soon. Both Topsy Curvy and Want That Trend were the more purse friendly Brands there.
I have not paid much attention to the River Island Plus range as it was only available up to size 26 and being a booby size 28 there was no chance of anything fitting me. It was noticed by Debz that the website now has a few items available in size 28 which hopefully means more in the future!
I fell in love with this dress which is a size 26 and looks quite roomy so will be trying the size 28 if it comes back into stock.
Tess, Debs & I showing how sexxxeh we are for her Snapchat!
My outfit for the day was this beautiful floral Scarlett & Jo dress in a size 24 that I have previously reviewed HERE. It kept me cool and looking vintage but glam all day and evening.
Ebay was there launching their New Curve Hub for all things Plus Size. This is the same thing I filmed an advert for a few weeks ago that should be online soon.
This is the team for Ebay Curve hub at the event.
Goggle Box babes Sandi and Sandra were there strutting their stuff on the catwalk!
Debz, George & Myself featured on TCFF instagram page.
Debz & Myself on the Lovedrobe instagram page.
The lovely Georgina Grogan took this pic of me for her new venture She Might Be. Check it out an follow on instagram etc.
After a full day of Fashion Festival a few of us went for food at Red's BBQ and OHhhMyLorrrrd it was so good! Defo try it if you like meat!
There was cocktails and lots of chat then we all headed back to our hotels and to trains to get to our beds.
This event really is important to the plus size community and needs to be supported. Please think about coming to next years event. Say hello to your favourite bloggers! It really makes there day to meet readers and take selfies!
A big thank you to all the blogger babes! Yall know who you are!
Thank you to the wonderful team that made TCFF what it is and put in so much work to make it the best it can be!

It looks like a amazing event, I would have loved to have gone but left it too late in my planning and £££ wouldn't allow it, so next year I'm gonna try and be organised and start saving early.
ReplyDeleteYour right in that these events are just so important for the sense of community and showing the world visible fat women wearing kick ass outfits.
Such a good weekend and so lovely to see you again Lolly :) I thoroughly enjoyed all of it!
