I have been meaning to do this outfit post for a while. This dress is one of the ones I wore in the Plus North Fashion Show by Simply Be. The dress I had chosen was out of stock in my size so they brought this for me instead. As a teen I was always wearing black as I was told is was slimming but as an adult I have filled my wardrobe with loud colours and prints. I have to say this is not a dress I would have chosen but I was surprised how nice it is on. It has a classic shape but the pvc pockets add a punch of modern to it.

It is quite thick so will be great for winter with funky leggings and boots.



I am sporting my new glasses which arrived from the glazers. The glasses are new but old stock and I got them from etsy.com for about £90 which is a lot more than I usually spend on glasses but they were too cool to miss out on.



I got the leggings in Matalan and the biggest size they had was a size 20 in their normal range. I have bought leggings in 20s from other places and they always seem to fit so thought I would give them a try. The legs are a little snug but I can live with it. Check out the smaller sized ranges for leggings. They are usually cheaper than the plus sized range and there is more choice of print and colour.





These shoes are new too and I got them from a cheap shoe shop in Meadowhall called Shoe Zone for £13. I am so sick of the flat sole shoes with no support and rubbish thin sole that you feel every crack in the pavement through. These have a lovely thick sole with slight wedge. I did have to size up to a 7 but they are soooooo comfy.

I picked up this Ugly Betty style poncho that has been keeping me warm and very colourful. Thank you Kirsty and the other lovely ladies who made this event possible and brilliant. Can't wait for the next one! 

While browsing the interwebs I found an internet friends Etsy shop and this beauty below. Vintage plus size is very hard to come by and I loved the colours, print and shape of the dress which was actually too big for me but figured a belt would fix that small problem so I ordered it. £21 including UK postage from the USA and it came in a week! Thats faster than most of the things I order off ebay from UK sellers. If you have never ordered from Etsy before then do it! I get a lot of my vintage specs from it. It is mostly vintage and handmade things from sellers all over the world. You can search by location if you fancy something local and payment is with paypal.

I picked up these shoes from Asda kids section for £8 and are the most comfy flats I have ever had. No rubbing and no blisters! Plus they reminded me of Minnie Mouse.

Ok so there is not a beach in Sheffield but if there was I would be there with spots on! Plus Mr and I are planning a trip to the coast soon so this will be my beach attire. Although I have been swimming twice this week at the local indoor pool and I have not been to a public pool in 20 years! I went with another fatty for support although it was not traumatic at all. It was actually a really fun experience that I plan to do a lot more of at only £3.20 for an hour. We managed to get in 20 lengths before out hour was up and lots of leg exercises and chat.










Recent searches for new swimwear did not go well. I did try the Simply Be Chevron Bikini but the bra was way too small for my 44h boobs and they need a lot of support. I also tried a Tankini top from Tesco but they only had the 28 left in stock and it was too big and unsupportive. I even tried stitching it to tighten it up but it just would not work. So it is back to my old faithful. I may invest in something a little more expensive once I have been swimming a few months but for now I was looking for a cheap option and just could not find anything suitable.

This blue vest has been getting a lot of wear. I need to get a few other colours. The waterfall cardi is soft shirt like material and perfect for covering up and the weather is too warm for a wool cardi. I got if from New Look Inspire size 22. This style is pretty forgiving so try another size if they don't have you usual size.

The skirt is a size 22 from Dorothy Perkins which I got in the sale a while back. It is supposed to be long but  I wear skirts under my bust which makes them shorter but I like this length. Belt was from Matalan and I wore one of my Lifes Big Canvas Brooches as a necklace.

Having got a few ASOS items from the Curve range I was so excited to the Flamingo skirt reduced and had to try it. It has a zip at the back which is quite tough and not stretch but to my surprise it fit me perfectly. I added a few of the Flamingo pieces I already had and this what I came up with. I think its pretty cute and the skirt is full enough to add my blue petticoat under it for going somewhere fancy.
