As you may or may not have noticed, I have a new header for the blog! I am super excited about it as it is drawn by the awesome Russ aka @ihateyurguts instagram. He has a great talent for art and his fat tattooed ladies have been a favourite of mine for some time. I commissioned this piece from him last week and I love it to bits!

If you would like to commission him just sent him a message on instagram and I am sure he will be happy to help out for a fee. Check him out on instagram!

As a FAT woman who is involved in the FAT Blogger Community I come across positive images of FAT people all the time online. As a teenager and I never saw positive images of fat people ever! Being a woman who finds the female form to be a beautiful thing I came across the term BBW fairly quickly and found women who looked like me that were naked and was astounded at how beautiful they looked and SEXY.

Beautiful and SEXY are both things I never saw myself as because I am FAT and had been told through every media that this was not possible. I was interested in seeing myself naked and through other peoples eyes as art. Being able to get naked for a complete stranger was scary and still is to a point but the outcome is what makes it all worth it.

I have been nude for Katie Soze three times now and every shoot we do produces pictures that empower me as a FAT Female. Every stretch mark, scar, roll, lump and bump is on display for the world to see and yet I look at the photos of myself and see a happy confident me who is proud to show people what FAT looks like. It is in all of us and is has nothing do with the type of person you are or the way you live your life.

FAT is not a bad word. I am FAT and I am a woman. I have large breasts and a vagina but none of this tells you who I AM. Photography is a powerful medium that has been the major reason behind my journey of self love and acceptance and the fact that my pictures help not only me but others to love their own bodies is something so special and I could never even imagined when I started on this path.

Please take the time to really look at these images and see how they make you feel about what you see and about yourself. Please feel free to comment. The women in these images are amazing ladies that I am proud to call friends. Body issues are not just a FAT female issue. Everyone has them. Learn to love yourself and your body and be happy in your skin.

I met the lovely Miss Katie Soze about 4 months ago through the website Model Mayhem. Its a place for Photographers/Models/Hair/Makeup Artists to share their work and find work. She sent me a message asking me to shoot with her. I loved her portfolio! Especially the girly pretty blurred time lapse shots. I would be her first FAT model. Check out her work HERE and HERE

When she contacted me to do another shoot I was more than happy to do it! Not really knowing what we were going to do I took along a few items to use.Such as the Chevron Swim Shorts from Simply Be, Collar from Romwe, scarf, hat etc. Katie picked what she liked and we just had fun and a giggle as she shot the pretty pictures below.

I have had quite a few messages from women of all ages and sizes saying how brave I am and how seeing me has helped them love their own bodies a bit more. I totally understand it because it was the same for me! By doing shoots that show my fat body I have learned to love my body and accept it. I am so happy that my pictures can help other women on their own journey of self love If I can make people who think negative things about fat people think twice about their ideas that can only be a good thing.

Hope you enjoy them! Any comment and feedback are welcome! Good & bad.

About a year ago I came across Yossi Loloi on facebook through a friend. I was directed to his website and his Full Beauty Project. It is a radical photographic project to show fat woman of all sizes and shapes in a way that makes the viewer question their thoughts on beauty and size. I found myself looking at his pictures of these beautiful fat women and thinking this is art! I would hang this on my wall. They look like oil paintings and made me think of the beautiful old paintings I had seen in books and galleries of voluptuous females before there was this skinny mentality. Finally something that represents the fat community and I can totally relate to and felt proud of these women for showing their bodies and forcing society to see what is normally kept hidden.

I instantly sent him a message saying how much I loved his work and how happy I was to see what he was trying to do with his photos.
He replied and told me he would be in the United Kingdom soon and would like to soot me. I was surprised and a little scared but I looked at the pictures again and thought to myself that these women did it and seeing them had a positive effect on me and there was no reason why I couldn't or shouldn't do it too and hopefully have the same effect on someone else. Yossi is from Italy and was visiting London so he made the trip up to Sheffield to meet me and shoot. I recently did another shoot with him in Milan and Blogged about it HERE

Please take a look at his website and add him on facebook and twitter. If you are interested in shooting with him please do not hesitate to contact him or me and I can put you in contact with him. I am so proud of Yossi for his work and that I got the chance to work with him. He is a lovely gentleman that I am forever grateful to for making me into art and helping me on my journey of self acceptance and love. This picture was my first professional photo shoot. I love it! Every lump, bump and stretch mark for all to see. This is me at my most vulnerable but also at my strongest.

In my previous FAT Art Post I used a picture by this artist but did not know who she was at the time. Through some google searching I found out the Artist is Jeanne Lorioz. You can see more of her work here > http://www.lorioz.com/

I was planning on doing a blog post on FAT Art and yesterday I got a surprise from the Artist S2dio when he sent me the picture below! It is the second picture he has done of me. The first was 9 months ago. I love his style and he sells prints and other photography on Etsy. He will also do custom pieces for $20. Check out his work HERE and his Etsy HERE
