Curvy Convention 2015

Sunday, May 17, 2015

On Saturday I got up very early to get a train to London for Curvy Convention. On the train I met up with the funny and beautiful Georgina - She Might Be Loved and her Mum.

Our train got into St Pancras where we met Sarah - Plus Size Proud and we got a taxi to the venue St. Marys just off York Street.

My outfit consisted of older items and worn for comfort of travelling.

Jacket  - Yours Clothing
Tshirt - Asda
Skirt - Asos Curve
Shoes  - Clarks
Bag - Aldo
Necklace - FollowRayOnline

The venue was large and bright and all the brands stalls where around the edge of the room. Catwalk and seating in the middle and even a massage tent. Downstairs (there was a lift for disabled people) was where the workshops were held including a burlesque class. There was also a Cafe for snacks and drinks and the toilets were also on this level.

The first stall to catch my eye was Voodoo Vixen with beautiful staff and colourful clothing rail full of pretties. I have a couple of their cardigans and love them to bits. I also have glasses print Connie dress in a 4x which is very tight on my belly and bust. I would love it of they extended their sizing to 5x and 6x as I know I would buy their complete collection!

The Voodoo Vixen catwalk show was the best I saw. Great music and preformance from all the models.

Gemma Collins of reality tv fame was in attendance with her clothing line and was signing autographs but would only take a selfie with people if they bought something from her range. This is not cool Gemma. Not cool!

The models rocked all the clothing collections and was good to see a range of heights and body shapes but there were no larger fats modelling. I am unsure if this is because some of the brands do not make their clothes above a size 26.

Topsy Curvy are a smaller brand but they have a great collection at good prices and these outfits caught my eye.

I fell in love with this white dress but my size was not available on the day but can't see it on the website!

A brand I had not heard of before is Figure Eight. The clothes were Amazing quality and unique styles. I especially loved the tartan and sparkles. This range is expensive compared to high street brands but is worth a look for that special occasion or if you have more to spend of quality pieces that will be wearable in your wardrobe for many years. Sadly the website is lacking in photos and could do with some younger models to show the range is equally wearable by any age group.

The amazing and beautiful Sarah is a Plus Size Model and blogger. I borrowed this photo from her instagram to show her on the catwalk for The Big Day bridal shop. This is the shop I went to recently and is being featured in the tv documentary I am being filmed for about Plus Size Brides.

Nicky Rockets & Betty Pamper were the most crowded stall all day! It was the blogger hangout and no wonder when you have such brilliant, cool, stylish and inspirational couple with a brand that puts fun and sexy onto fashion for sizes up to 6xl!

Asos Curve showed their swimwear range which featured these gorgeous items. It would have been great to have seen some clothing on the catwalk too.

Simply Be were also there and this outfit stood out to me. Not only is the model stunning but she made this outfit look even better!

The ice cream colours on the Lovedrobe rail caught my attention. This dress and print collar were a perfect combo for me.

I spent the day with the lovely and recently Mrs,  Katt - @ZombieMeow13 and we both were silly and did not get a selfie so here she is trying on a lovely Joe Browns dress in Simply Be and her very pretty face!

By 4pm we were ready for some food and a drink. It was a beautiful warm day in London and we headed over to Oxford Street to Simply Be. We were given a very warm welcome and taken very good care of by a lovely lady called Chloe. Sadly as I am finding more and more recently there were not many things above a size 26 for me to try on. Please sort this out Simply Be. I want to
Give you my money!

Here are the best bunch of ladies you could ever have the pleasure to meet! It is never a bad day when I get to hang out with any of them. Love you all!

A very special thank you goes to Caroline - CurvyWordy (the beautiful blonde in front with cherry dress) for taking the time to measure some of us including myself to help me find a bra that makes my boobs look epic. If anyone had seen me topless and bent over with my boobs nearly touching the floor while Caroline tried to measure around me (but her tape measure was too short!) they would have thought soem very naighty and strange things were going on!!!

Also a massive thank you to everyone who came and said Hello! I love meeting everyone that reads my blog and follows me on social media so if you see me out and about please say Hello!
